The Wine Buff Selection Cuvee Jean Marie Pomerol 2021

The Wine Buff Selection Pomerol is made in partnership with Mikeal Moze Berthon. Approx 500 bottles of this wine are made each year, the grapes are taken from the best parcels of land near Chateau Bon Pasteur, and a 10 minute walk from Chateau Petrus. The terroir is gravel, clay, and sand soil.

The wine is made using micro vinification techniques, meaning that the wine is vinified completely in the barrel. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrel and the wine is aged in a 100% new french oak.

The special Cuvees in The Wine Buff Selection range, are made in honour of people who helped us in our journey since we opened our first shop in Limerick back in 2000.

The Cuvee is named after Jean Marie Zeli from St Emilion, who was a lover of fine red wine and a member of the Wine Buff tasting team, sniffing out some great gems from the Bordeaux region.

The can be enjoyed young with decanting for 1 -2 hours.

Blackcurrants, blueberries, minerals, and cedar on the nose. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Juicy. Very polished tannins and plenty of mid-palate depth as well as loads of chocolaty fruit and opulence on the palate, it's going to continue evolving up to 15 years.
