Domaine Montmartel Visan Côtes du Rhône Villages 2018

Five generations have been making wine here since 1919. In 2002 Damien Marres became the winemaker at the age of 23. The Visan vineyards of Domaine Montmartel are located high up on the hillsides of the Cotes du Rhone Villages appellation. Since 2004 the vineyards have been worked in the “Lutte raisonee” methods of agriculture and from 2010 with organic certification.

Damien believes in minimum intervention in the vineyard, concentrating instead on the monitoring and assistance of the natural process. The wines are fruity and easy to drink, yet complex and full bodied.

Deep plummy red, with a great nose with notes of spice, bramble fruits and black cherry. Great concentration and smooth tannins, leaving a fresh aromatic finish.
