Rioja

Rioja is one of the most famous wine regions in Spain, red wines are predominately made from Tempranillo, with a splash of Granacha. ​Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva refer to the ageing process for wines, listed from the traditional terms for youngest to oldest. In recent times many new styles have been developed and the region added a new class of wine called Joven. These wines can be released with almost no ageing. Each category has its own distinct taste that has been refined over the two hundred years that wine has been made in the region.
