Well done to Daragh and Conall from the Wine Buff who completed the NYC Marathon to raise funds for the Crumlin Children’s Hospital. They finished in 4 hours and 4 minutes.
They set off at a steady pace and were initially looking at a finishing time of approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes, however after the first few miles they decided the atmosphere at the event was too good to miss out on. “People were on the street cheering and high fiving you from the 10 mile mark onwards” said Daragh. At the 20 mile mark we passed a group of guys having barbecues handing out burgers and beers to the runners, we just enjoyed ever minute of the run and amazing scenes along the route, this was definitely worth doing at least once in a lifetime and you had to take it all in to enjoy the experience” added Daragh.
The lads had an early night with a few beers and were in great form the next morning, they even went for a short jog to loosen up.
Well done to both of them from everyone at the Wine Buff.
